The Wood Anemone top features a floral inspired lace and bobble stitch pattern that spreads and grows over the front and the back. The pattern was inspired by the little white wood anemones that filled the woods near my home in May when the rest of nature was still just barely woken after the long winter. The top is perfect for everyday wear and easy to use as a layering piece under a cardigan or a jacket, or even as a vest over a t-shirt.
The Wood Anemone top is knitted seamlessly top-down. A beautiful lace and bobble pattern is worked on the front and the back (although you can also leave out the bobbles if those are not your thing). The yellow sample was knitted with the bobbles, while the pink sample is without them.
The top is started by knitting the front and back triangles, which are joined at the underarm. The hem is folded double and sewn on the inside. The body is slightly cropped so it’s perfect to pair with a dress, a skirt or a pair of high waisted pants, but the length is easily modified for a longer fit. Note that changing the length of the body will affect the amount of yarn needed to finish the garment, so if you want a longer top, make sure you get a few extra balls of yarn.
